| Dear Parishioners:
I would like to give you a review and update on our parish Stewardship
program for this past year. Last summer I formed a first time ever Stewardship
Committee at St. Therese Parish. It’s something that has been suggested
to me and that I’ve been wanting to do for many years. With the
help of Mr. Luis Soto, the Director of Hispanic for the Archdiocese of
Denver, we initiated a stewardship model he has trained us in, last August.
As a result we have presented a series of stewardship topics to you over
these months since. This past fall ’08 we began with Stewardship
of Prayer, and Time & Talent. For several weeks we priests and parishioners
gave testimonies (as with all the topics) about the importance of prayer
and our personal relationship with God and our faith. You heard about
the commitment of putting aside a portion of our time and our abilities
to serve our parish community. Just this past February we celebrated Stewardship
of Treasure – how we tithe and give a portion of our income for
the financial support of our parish. I want to thank you all, right now,
for your incredible generosity – even during a time of great economic
stress and uncertainty. Our Hispanic community has responded with new
vigor and a higher level of giving in our offertory collection - thank
you! Thanks for returning to God out of gratitude for what He has given
you! This May we will be presenting Stewardship of Vocation. We will be
reflecting with you on our call (Vocation) to be Catholic, as laity and
religious. We will be challenged about how we live our spiritual and personal
lives in a particularly Catholic-Christian way both in the parish and
in the marketplace – the world. Stewardship is a way of life, so
you will continue to see regular presentations of it’s themes throughout
the year. Stewardship is not a sometimes thing, but a constant daily living
out of our faith in selflessness and service! Thank you for your Stewardship
and commitment to God & Church. |
