Adult Choir
The Adult Choir sings primarily at the 10:00 am Sunday Mass, special Holy Days and events such as Holy Week liturgies, and midnight Mass Christmas Eve. They volunteer their time to sing at community events. Practice is every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in the church. Those who belong to the choir find it a special way of ministering, using their talents, and praising God in song. It is also a time to socialize and get to know other members of the parish. If you are interested in using your talent to praise the Lord, you are welcome to join us.
Music Ministry
The Music Ministry at St. Therese includes that of leading the singing and accompanying for weekend and Holy Day Masses. We are also proud of our participation in the bilingual celebrations. Our cantors and accompanists are just ordinary people like you, who recognize the gifts God has given them and want to enhance the Mass and participation of the assembly through music. If you are able to play any of the musical instruments, especially piano, organ, or guitar please consider using your talents through this ministry. If you are a strong singer and would like to be a cantor (song leader) at Mass, please call the church office.
Altar Servers
The ministry of Altar Server at St. Therese is open to any young man or woman, grades 5th-12th, who have a desire to serve at the Altar, to assist the priests and deacons at daily and Sunday Masses, and liturgical services, and to help the congregation participate and enjoy worship. For altar server sign up and training, please contact the church office.
Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist
Lay Eucharistic Ministry is open to any person, 18 years or older, who is fully initiated into the Church and has a special devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Ministers distribute and share with the Catholic Faithful the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass, and with the sick who are homebound, hospitalized, or in nursing homes.
Lectors
The Lectors proclaim the Word of God to the congregation at all parish Masses. Any member of the laity, 18 years or older, and in good standing with the church, is invited to be a lector.
Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee is comprised of members active in liturgical ministries. These members plan Masses, liturgical functions, and feasts according to the Church's Liturgical Year. They assist in coordinating and training of all liturgical ministers, and arrangement of the church environment.
Ministry to the Sick; and Prayers for the Sick
Our Extraordinary Ministers take the Holy Eucharist to residents of Aurora Care Center and Camillia Care Center every Sunday and Tuesday. If you know of someone homebound or hospitalized who would like to be remembered in prayer at Mass or receive Communion, please call the church office.
Presenters of the Offertory Gifts
Any member of the parish can take an active role in the Mass by carrying up the Offertory Gifts. The ushers may ask you to bring up the gifts. We hope that you will accept this honor and privilege.
Sacristan
A Sacristan is an appointed person who coordinates the preparation of liturgical materials and ministers for the celebration of Mass.
Ushers
The ministry of the usher is of great importance at the weekend and Holy Day Masses at St. Therese. The ushers greet parishioners as they arrive at church, answer any questions, help those with special needs and take up the collection. Ushers assist in accommodating the assembly and the church environment. It is a ministry open to both men and women (18 years and older) of our parish who wish to serve in this capacity.
